The MDT KNX bus power supply with integrated choke supplies the KNX / EIB bus with a constant, stabilized DC voltage of 30VDC. The current operating status is indicated by three colored LEDs at the top of the device:
- Red LED: KNX / EIB bus reset
- green LED: normal operation, no faults
- yellow LED: KNX / EIB bus overload
Once the fault has been rectified, the unit restarts automatically.

The bus power supplies have the following safety functions:
- Electronic short circuit and overload protection
- Temperature monitoring with shutdown in case of excessive temperature
